We plan a Rajasthan trip finally

After quite a few years of considering Rajasthan as our holiday destination, we finally pinned it as the final decision this time around. Big problem is that there are so many places in Rajasthan to visit, that you either need to do a “touch and go” with each place or you need to spend a few months in this beautiful state. We didn’t wanna choose any of those options and so we had to decide which places to narrow down to. This time, unlike past times, we had 2 weeks instead of 1. Well, actually, only Chandan and I had 2 weeks to spare. Everybody else had 1 week at the most and people kept coming or leaving midway, as is the tradition with all our vacations.

As usual, getting a vacation leave from work is difficult for a lot of people. We booked the tickets and kept but depending on peoples’ conveniences, tickets kept getting rebooked or cancelled.

Finally, our plan was this – we spend New Year’s Eve in Mumbai because the last time we spent our NYE in Goa, it got really expensive and we like to keep our holidays under budget! Then we spend the first two days of January nursing our hangovers and leave on the 3rd of Jan for Rajasthan. Our itinerary involved 2 nights at Ranthambore, 2 nights in Agra, 2 nights in Jaipur, 4 nights in Jaisalmer and 2 nights in Jodhpur. A lot of people were joining us in the trip – me (of course), Chandan, Manish, Roopali, Nanu, Pedro, John, Vedant, Gayatri and Faheem.

Nanu and John are new additions to our trip records. Nanu is Manish’s friend and John is his friend from some CA classes or something like that. In fact, we met John during Manish’s wedding and he immediately mixed in with the group and well, we’ve been hanging out ever since!

Oh and btw, 31st night was a blast! Mhatre has a house in Dahisar which is let out to a nursery. That’s where we spent our NYE, with a lot of music, bonfire and barbeque!
